Registration Policies

Registration Payments

Printable forms may be sent via fax to 703-276-3108, please make sure to indicate payment method and include credit card information if applicable.

Individuals wishing to submit a printable form with credit card information can either fax it to the number above or mail it to: Casualty Actuarial Society, C/O Danelle Gee, 4350 N. Fairfax Dr. Suite 250, Arlington, VA 22203 USA.

All registrations are considered temporary until receipt of total amount of related fees within 30 days after registration. All payments must be made no later than 15 March 2014, or registration will be subject to onsite registration surcharge or cancellation, at Organizer's discretion.

Registration fees will be debited in US Dollars at the exchange rate in effect at the transaction date.

Confirmation letters will be sent from Organizer to registrant via email upon completion of registration.

Registration Categories and Fees

Registrations must be RECEIVED on or before 15 November 2013 to qualify for the Discounted Early Registration fees.

Regular Registration fees apply to registrations received between 16 November 2013 and 31 January 2014.

All registrations received between 1 February 2014 and 15 March 2014 will incur the Late Registration fees.

Registrations or registration payments received after 15 March 2014 will be considered onsite registrations, and will be subject to the onsite surcharge (see below).

Attendee List

In order for a Delegate or Accompanying Person to be included in the ICA 2014 attendee list, full payment must be received on a timely basis and no later than 15 March 2014. Delegate or Accompanying Person registrations or payments received after 15 March or onsite at the Congress will result in those persons not being included in the attendee list.

Discounted Delegate (Assistance Qualified Country/Full-Time Academic)

Discounted registration fees are available for Delegates working full-time as Academics, as well as for Delegates living full-time in an Assistance-Qualified Country.

Please consult the list of Assistance Qualified Countries. If your country of full-time residence falls into the Assistance-Qualified classification, you are eligible for the ICA 2014 Discounted Delegate fee.

Accompanying Person

Delegates may be joined at the Congress by an Accompanying Person who is a non-business affiliate. An Accompanying Person is considered a significant other, friend, or family member of the attendee who is at least 14 years old as of March 30, 2014. Recruiters are not considered Accompanying Persons and must register at the appropriate delegate fee. Aside from the Opening and Closing Plenary Sessions, Accompanying Persons shall not attend parallel or plenary sessions. Accompanying Persons are also not entitled to breakfasts, refreshment breaks or lunches (unless included in the Accompanying Person afternoon Organized Event or tour, or specifically included in the Accompanying Person registration package).

If a person attending ICA 2014 with you is a Delegate, please complete a separate Delegate registration for that person.

Registration During the Congress

You may register onsite and pay by either check or credit card. The fee for every onsite registration will be calculated based on the Late Registration fee, plus 20%.

Methods of Payment

ICA 2014 registration fees will be accepted by check, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club), or bank transfer.

  • Payment via check (must be received by Organizers within 30 days of online registration and no later than 15 March 2014)
    Mail a check in US Dollars, along with a printed copy of your registration confirmation to:

  • Payment via credit card
    Submit credit card payment online during registration process. A receipt will be sent via email when payment is processed.
  • Payment via bank transfer to Casualty Actuarial Society (must be received by Organizers within 30 days of online registration and no later than 15 March 2014)
    Please note that all bank charges by local bank or intermediate bank must be borne by the remitter. Be sure to include your name and the purpose of the payment in the reference information provided with the wire transfer to:

Registration fees will be debited in US Dollars at the exchange rate in effect at the transaction date.

Cancellations

ICA 2014 registration fees will be refunded for cancellations received by the CAS Office on or before 28 February 2014, less a $200 processing fee per registered Delegate (there is no processing fee for Accompanying Persons cancelled on or before 28 February 2014). Only written cancellations will be honored. Please send cancellation requests via email to refund@ica2014.org or via fax to +1-(703) 276-3108.

Registration fees will not be refunded for Delegate or Accompanying Person cancellations received after 28 February 2014. However, after this date you may transfer the entire registration package (including Accompanying Person(s) registration) to another delegate upon payment of a $200 processing fee per registration package.

Registrations that are based upon fraudulent representations are subject to cancellation at any time prior to or during ICA 2014 at the sole discretion of the Organizer.

In the rare event that ICA 2014 is canceled, participants receive a full refund for registration fees paid. Transportation, hotel costs, optional tour costs or fees are the responsibility of attendee and are therefore not reimbursable by ICA 2014.

Substitutions

Substitutions may be made at any time via written request from the original registrant. Substitutions made after 28 February 2014 will incur an administrative fee of $200.

Insurance and Liability

  • In the event of strikes or natural catastrophes, physical injury or material damages either before or during the Congress, the Organizer cannot be held responsible for losses or injuries suffered by the Delegates, Accompanying Persons, or children or other guests.
  • ICA 2014 organization shall not be responsible for any theft, breakage, destruction or damages of any kind whatsoever and howsoever causes to personal and /or business items of the Delegate, Accompanying Persons, or children or other guests.
  • The Congress Program may be revised, modified, and reduced at any time by the Organization before and during the Congress.

Consent to Use of Photographic Images and Voice Recordings

Registration and attendance at or participation in ICA 2014 constitutes an agreement by the registrant to ICA 2014s use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee's image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproduction and audiotapes of such events and activities.

Antitrust Notice

The ICA 2014 Organizers are committed to adhering strictly to the letter and spirit of the antitrust laws.

ICA 2014 is designed solely to provide a forum for the expression of various points of view on topics described in the program. Under no circumstances shall ICA 2014 be used as a means for competing companies or firms to reach an understanding — expressed or implied — that restricts competition or in any way impairs the ability of participants, companies or firms to exercise independent business judgment regarding matters affecting competition. It is the responsibility of all meeting participants to be aware of antitrust regulations, to prevent any written or verbal discussions that appear to violate these laws, and to adhere in every respect to the relevant antitrust compliance policies.
